Telco under fire

Recently, one local telco came under fire after a customer posted about an offer that was given so that he would not port out (change networks) Apparently, it was offered to certain customers only. What made matters worse was the response from the telco on its :facebook: page, denying the act and stating it was for customers located in the East of Malaysia. Customers were pissed off because the offer (An upgrade of 8gb data for only RM68 - USD 17.43) was offered to customers who were leaving the telco, rather than those who have been loyal customers for many years. Many are paying high price (RM128- USD 32.82) for only 1gb data every month. You can read more of it here

All I can say is that I was really happy to read about the telco's meltdown. I had a horrible encounter with their customer service before, it was about 10 years ago. I was on their prepaid mobile at that time and I wanted to download the caller ringtone :tunes: (Haha! Yes I know! It's silly) I wanted the song Crazy- by Simple Plan. I downloaded using the code and I got another song Crazy- by Seal instead.  And yes, I was THAT silly to download it about 4 times, and I got charged RM16 (USD 4.10) for the same wrong song. I was furious :rage: and decided to report it on their website.

Oh yes, the customer service did contact me and told me that they will look into the matter. But guess what? After about a week, the same lady called me back and told me it was nothing wrong with their service but it was my phone's problem. How do you like that?! :wtf: Seriously. I was so freaking pissed off, but she was lucky I was at my doctor's at that time so I couldn't say any foul language to her. Instead of offering me at least a refund (like real  ) they could at least offer me a free ringtone as a compensation. But no, she asked me to download the song AGAIN. Yeah, and pay another RM4 for someone's mistake which they won't admit???!!! F* you. :finger: I was really appalled at their service. It was obvious the matter was brought up at their meeting, and the relevant department quickly went to rectify their s*...

Just another corporate conglomerate at its best. :shakefist:

Well, I'm still with the telco. Surprised? Yeah, and I became a postpaid customer as well.  My family is using it and my current workplace as well. I was thinking about porting out but never gotten around it to in depth. Maybe it's about time I did.
