Last week there was a major water supply disruption, which affected almost close to 5 million people... I'm not kidding, it was reported in the newspapers, social media and even forwarded on whatsapp messages. The water company was doing some upgrading work hence the water cuts. To be honest, it has become such a norm that almost every year (even every other month) there will be water cuts. So much that they even ask the public to check their website for updates.
As preparation they advised the public to store water for a few days... In comes the water container prices which will skyrocket because of the high demand... it would be sold out almost everywhere... Kinda like a mass panic... Sometimes I wonder if it's a conspiracy between the water company and the water container suppliers.... they would make a profit during times like this otherwise their products will just sit there collecting dust.
Anyway, the reported water disruption is all done... for now... until the next one.
Syabas (our local water company name) means "Well done" in the Malay language. The irony.
